Atheists: Do you find it hard being in the minority among the oppressive Christian majority?

Since there are so many more Christians than atheists meaning they still have such large political and societal power. Even after Bush they still are trying to shove their myths, bigotry, and views down the throats of Americans across the country. How do you deal with it?
